Imphal, 15 July 2016 ( Evening News) : Dynamic Manipur organised a one day seminar on entrepreneurship at Hotel Classic today. General Secretary of Dynamic Manipur, R.K. Someo said the seminar was held with an objective to produce more entrepreneurs in Manipur so that the state can join the global competition. He hoped that the state economy can be boost up once the educated youth become entrepreneurs instead of remaining jobless. Successful entrepreneurs of Manipur including Managing Director of Hotel Classic Dr. Thangjam Dhabali, and Managing Director of Global Web Solution, Roshanikumar Yambem spoke at the seminar.

Imphal, 15 July 2016 ( Evening News) : Head of department of Education, Manipur University, Dr. Premlata Meisnam today remarked that recruitment of Primary, Upper Primary and Graduate Teachers under the SSA and RMSA based on mark basis does not meet the full criteria structure. She was participating in the one-day discussion on “Recruitment Process of Primary, Upper Primary and Graduate Teachers under SSA & RMSA”. The event was organised by Kangleipak Students Association, KSA at Manipur Dramatic Union auditorium. Dr. Premlata further said the primary level is the foundation stone and backbone of Education. She said marks do not confirm the aptitude and competence of a teacher. She said since 2011 teachers are recruited on basis of marks which she termed as ‘unfortunate’. One of the resource persons, Dr. S. Gunadhor, former Associate Professor of Imphal College said recruitments done on basis of marks is a wrong step. He said the marks of Class 10, 12 and graduation do not show how qualified a person is for teaching. Many teaching staff of colleges and Manipur University took part in the event as resource persons. Students from various colleges and Manipur university attended the discuusion. Professor N. Mohendro Singh, former Director of College Development Council, Manipur University chaired the discussion.

Imphal, 14 July 2016 : In its efforts to improve the quality of school education in the state, Manipur govt has selected 50 schools under the Continuous & Comprehensive Inclusion project. Speaking to media at the press conference of head of departments for highlighting development activities of govt organised by DIPR at Moirangkhom, director of education S, N. Praveen said the department will regularly inspect the govt schools from this year. The director however could not give a satisfying answer when the media queried him about the decline in the admission to primary schools in 2015-16. He said works have been initiated under the Continuous & Comprehensive Inclusion project to improve the relationship between the teachers and students. Praveen said 50 schools have been already selected under the project to better the quality of school education. He said the department is trying to give more focus on the quality of Mathematics, Science and English subjects in hill districts. He also mentioned that the dept has framed rules and regulations to check the mushrooming of Private Schools throughout the state. The director stated that vocational education will be implemented in 21 Higher Secondary Schools with the aim to prepare educated, employable and competitive human resources. He maintained that the Mid Day Meal Scheme is an important instrument for combating classroom hunger and promoting better learning. Majority of cooks engaged in the programmes are women, most of them are from under privileged backgrounds. Mid-Day Meal scheme, hot cooked food is being provided to Primary Children since 14th November 2004 and Upper Primary children from 2008-09 onwards. Till the end of the month of December 2015, 148221 - Primary and 38434 - Upper Primary children were covered.  children is 81.925 percent.

Imphal, 14 July 2016 : Organising Secretary of BJP Manipur Pradesh, S Premananda today hinted that some Congress MLAs may join BJP before the 2017 assembly elections in the state. Speaking exclusively to Impact News, S Premananda also stated that apart from Congress, leaders and members of other political parties are also likely to join BJP looking at the exceptional works done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Premananda said a convention of North East Democratic Alliance was held at Guwahati today with the sole objective of strengthening the Alliance of non-Congress party in the North East region. Replying to a query on how the BJP candidate of a constituency will be chosen from amongst the many BJP ticket seekers, Premananda said party national leaders have started a survey to identify the most deserving and qualified candidates.

Acting President of BJP Manipur Pradesh Moirangthem Hemanta said BJP is a  party which maintains discipline, manner and collectively trust a leader. Addressing media persons at BJP office in Nityaipat Chuthek, Moirangthem Hemanta said BJP believes in good governance and good govt. He accused that there is no law in Congress led govt states. He said BJP will try to stop the irregularities in the state.

Cleanliness drive

Imphal, 12 July 2016 ( Evening News): Keirao MLA K. Thamarjit said the cleanliness drive of around 2 km long Lilakhong which runs through Manipur University will be completed in a week. MLA Thamarjit made the statement after inspecting the work along with MU Vice Chancellor HNK Sharma today. He said the drive will help save around 400 hectares of paddy fields of Kyamgei Loukon from flooding. The drive will also help from flood situation in Thongju  and Singjamei constituencies. The MLA said there is a plan to construct retaining wall along the Lilakhong canal. Manipur University Vice Chancellor HNK Sharma said the university will extend all possible help in cleaning the Lilakhong.
