Frustrated over the state government's attitude on the issue of IPLS, Convenor of JCILP Women's Wing, Nganbi has categorically stated that Home Minister should stop playing delaying tactics in the implementation of ILP in the state. 

Speaking to Impact News at Sekmai police station in connection with the entry of 51 labourers without valid cards, Nganbi accused Gaikhangam of playing delaying tactics, to the demand for implementation of ILP. She said they came to inquire about the entry of non locals after getting specific information from JCILP Kanglatongbi unit. 

She also demanded that Gaikhangam should stop entry of non locals without valid cards and should not be brought in for vote bank politics. Nganbi also asked owner of the two vehicles who brought in the labours of power grid yesterday to come and bring an understanding with JCILP.

Demand for homeland by various ethnic communities cannot address various issues confronting the state.This was asserted by Assistant Professor, Chinglen Maisnam in connection with the one day panel discussion on need for new socio economic and political vision of Manipur organised under the initiative of UPF at Artiste Workshop cum Dormitory Hall of Art and Culture Dept at Palace Compound yesterday. 

He further said in a multi ethnic society like Manipur demand for Kukiland and greater Nagaland which are the demand of particular community will not solve the problems. He said a new and developed Manipur can only be brought by united efforts of various organisations of the state. 

Though the general public is well aware of the fact that Sharmila’s agitation is meant for all of us yet it appears as an individual agitation.The state is surviving through various flagship programs and schemes of Central govt. We might not be able to sustain and survive once these schemes have gone.

The 5th foundation day of Social Reformer Society was held yesterday at its Head Office in Singjamei Mayeng Leikai. Social Worker Laitonjam Ranbir graced the function as chief guest, Social Worker Angom Pishak and Women Activist Kshetrimayum Ibemu as Guest of Honour and President of the Society Sarungbam Dhanajit as president. 

Speaking to Impact News, Mayengbam Manaobi, Secretary of the Society, said the society was formed by like-minded 25 people. He said each member of the society contributed equal amount of money and provide support to aged people and to encourage good student.

Gifts were presented to students who have passed 10th standard examination in 2014 with high marks and senior citizens who are above 80 years. Shumaang leela “Khudol” was played as a mark of celebration. 

Discussion on business development were the main focus of the 2nd day of ‘Start-up Weekend Imphal’ organised by Manipur Institute of Management Studies, MIMS. 8 teams of 6 people each with different business projects were formed on the first day of the event.

Aeroshil Nameirakpam, organiser of Start-up Weekend, said the event is being organised to provide a platform so that people can convert ideas into business.

On the second day, team members discussed their projects with experts on business development process. Bithun Bhomik, Manager of Start-up weekend South-Asia, entrepreneur Gautam Thokchom and members of MIMS faculty attended the discussion. 

The event, which emphasises on the elements of business project development, is jointly organised by Dynamic Change for Dynamic Manipur, Kauffman Foundation, Google for Entrepreneurs and various organisation. The event is concluding today. Start-up Weekend will extend help in staring business to 3 teams picked by experts. 

The Prodigal Ministry Tamei released Manipuri short film ‘Toknga’. The 45-minute long film is produced by Dee Abonmai XL and directed by S Hemanta and Jitendra Ningombam. MLA of Tamei Assembly Constituency along  with Vice Chairman of Hill Area Committee, Z Kikhonbou Newmai attended the releasing function held at Manipur Press Club. Producer of the film, Dee Abonmai XL, said the film outlines the need to preserve our customs and traditions despite following any kind of religion.
