Search operation conducted from Lalambung Pukhri Achouba Mamang to Soram Leirak
Manipur Police is on its toe ahead of the State’s biggest festival ‘Sangai Festival’. To avoid untoward incidents and as part of daily routine Imphal West Police Commandos conducted combing operations from Lalambung Pukhri Achouba Mamang to Soram Leirak. The combing operation was led by Additional SP K. Meghachnadra, Imphal West Commando OC P Sanjoy, Imphal Police Station personnel, Lamphel Police Station personnel. 11 persons without valid identification documents were taken to Lamphel Police Station for further verification and later released.
New Yamaha showroom opened at Chingmeirong
A Yamaha Showroom named Pakhangba Motors was opened at Chingmeirong. Yamaha Motor India Sales Private Limited, Managing Director Masaki Asano inaugurated the Showroom. Yamaha Motor India Sales Private Limited Sales and Marketing Vice President, Roy Kurian and Pakhangba Motors Proprieter, Lourembam Victor attended the function. The showroom is looking forward to provide two wheelers of the company to the customers easily.
Nine Manipuri bodybuilders selected for 6th World Bodybuilding Championship 2014
Nine Bodybuilders of Manipur have been selected in the Indian Bodybuilding team for participating in the 6th World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship 2014 which is scheduled to be held on December 5 to 10 at Mumbai. Th Sarita Devi, K Rebita Devi, Y Momo Devi will participate in the Women open category, S Bungcha Singh will participate in the Junior category and Th Romi Singh, M Rubi Singh and A Boby Singh will compete in the Senior Category while K Dineshchandra Singh , Y Nando Luwang will compete in the Masters Category. They were selected through a selection trial contest held at Vadodara in Gujarat on 8th of this month.
Crime against women rises as govt fails to take action: Th Shyamkumar
Andro MLA Th Shyamkumar has alleged that the rampant increase in crimes against women and children in Manipur is due to the failure of the state Govt to take concrete action. Speaking to media persons at his official quarters at Kangla Park, he said the crimes against women including disabled have drastically increased as the govt has failed to punish the perpetrators. He said if this continues there is no meaning in remaining as an MLA.
Tharoijan and Thoubal rape case: Students stage protest
School students today held protests against the rise in rape cases and crime against women in Manipur. They denounced the recent raping and killing of two girls at Tharoijam and Thoubal. Students of Camp English Academy, Koirengei, Lainingthou Awangba School Khurai and Diana English school staged sit displaying various placards that condemned rape and demanded capital punishment for the rapists.
