Imphal, 03 June 2016 (Evening): Thangmeiband MLA Kh Joykishan today demanded the govt to prove that the allegations made against JCILPS Convenor Khomdram Ratan is legitimate within 7 days or the MLA himself will initiate agitation. Speaking to media at his residence at Khoyathong, Joykishan also slammed the allegation that Khomdram Ratan is a member of the banned UNLF and announcement of Rs 5 lakh reward for giving information of his whereabouts is a tactic to suppress the ILP movement and avoid implementation of inner line permit system in Manipur. Joykishan also questioned whether the police have authenticated the photo or will police apologise if the photo was morphed. He said if the police has registered an FIR and issue an arrest warrant if the photo was genuine and which court has declared Ratan as an absconder. The MLA also added that silence maintained by Congress MLAs and Ministers in the matter will not be a right decision.

Imphal, 25 May 2016 ( Evening News) : Scuffles between the students of Tamphasana girls Higher Secondary School and police personnel occurred this afternoon when the students tried to carry out a protest rally and stage sit-in against the arrest of students yesterday during the storming of political party offices as announced by JCILPS. The students demanded that they should be allowed to stage a sit-in with the gate open. Police stopped the students at the gate and locked the gate from outside. Infuriated by the closure of the gate, students tried to break open the two gates of the school and shouted to open the gate. Police were on high alert with barricades, water canon and large number personnel on stand by. At around 4 in the afternoon, some parents reached the school and picked their wards from the school. Police then allowed the students to go home one by one.

Imphal, 25 May 2016 ( Evening) : Volunteers of JCILPS wing today stormed the Congress office at BT road and Manipur people's party office near Imphal polo ground demanding conversion of the 3 bills passed by the state assembly into an act. Joint Committee On Inner Line Permit System has earlier decided to close down the office of the regional and national parties in the state as part of its demand for implementation of ILP. A large number of women protestors tried to storm the Congress office however police personnel of Imphal West managed to disperse them. Police personnel drove them back till the east end of the flyover. The protestors then attempted to storm the MPP office. They shouted slogans and tried to lock the office. But the police once again managed to control them and put the situation under control.

Volunteers of JCILPS students Wing and Women's wings today burnt the effigies of Chief Minister Okram Ibobi, Manipur Pradesh Congress Party President TN Haokip and BJP Manipur Pradesh President Kshetrimayum Bhabananda at Kwakeithel Takhel leikai in protest against the arrest of student protestors. They were also protesting the failure of all political party team to approach the central leaders on the 3 bills. The protestors also took out a rally from Takhel leikai but police halted them at Sega Road Thouda Bhabok Leikai. Scuffles ensued between police personnel and the agitators forcing the police to fire tear gas shells to disperse the crowd. The protestors pelted stones at the police. Police arrested a student protestor. Tiddim road witnessed chaotic traffic during the protest.

Imphal, 24 May ( Evening News) : Girls have outdone the boys as in previous years  in this year's High School Leaving Certificate Examination. The results of High School Leaving Certificate Examination 2016 conducted by Board of Secondary Education Manipur were announced this afternoon. Sohana Laishram of Nirmalabas High School has topped the examination while Naoram Sujana has bagged the second place. Vasundhara Devi of Little Flower School Examination has stood third. The govt schools are conspicuous by their absence in the top 20. The pass percentage this year is 65.37. Pass percentage of boys  is 68.69 while that of girls is 61.95. Government aided Gokul High School, Bishnupur managed to claim the 21st position among the 25 toppers. Altogether 31 thousand, 749 students appeared in the examination and 20 thousand 753  passed. Topper Sohana Laishram got 576 out of 600 marks and letter marks in all the subjects. Sohana is the daughter of Laishram Birendro and RK Praneshori of Heirangoithong Bazar. Naorem Sujana got 570 and letter marks in all the subjects. She is the daughter of Naorem Rameshor of Kakching Khunyai Leikai. Third topper Maibram Vasundhara obtained 569 and letter marks in all subjects.

Imphal, 20 May 2016 : JCILPS  Students Wing strongly condemned the police action against the protestors who took part in a democratic rally on Tiddim Road this afternoon where 5 persons were injured. Speaking at a press meet held at the office of JCILPS at Konjeng Hazari Leikai, Convenor of the Students’ Wing Nandababu Oinam said time has now come to teach the  govt a lesson and appealed to the people to intensify the agitation. He said people are also requested to shout slogan ‘No ILP, No Govt’ during the protest tomorrow. Nandababu however appealed to the volunteers not to give trouble to patients, media persons, people going for religious functions and students appearing in Indian Council of Agricultural Research examination scheduled for tomorrow.
