Imphal, 25 May 2016 ( Evening News) : Scuffles between the students of Tamphasana girls Higher Secondary School and police personnel occurred this afternoon when the students tried to carry out a protest rally and stage sit-in against the arrest of students yesterday during the storming of political party offices as announced by JCILPS. The students demanded that they should be allowed to stage a sit-in with the gate open. Police stopped the students at the gate and locked the gate from outside. Infuriated by the closure of the gate, students tried to break open the two gates of the school and shouted to open the gate. Police were on high alert with barricades, water canon and large number personnel on stand by. At around 4 in the afternoon, some parents reached the school and picked their wards from the school. Police then allowed the students to go home one by one.
