Imphal, 10 June 2016 ( Evening News) : Information and Broadcasting ministry today framed a New Print Media Advertisement Policy for Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP) with the objective to promote transparency and accountability in issuing of advertisements in print media. The policy focuses on streamlining release of Government advertisements and to also promote equity and fairness among various categories of newspapers and periodicals. For payment and adjustment of Bills, the policy framework mandates that DAVP will release payment of advertisement bills in the name of newspaper or company account directly through ECS or NEFT. The policy has classified newspaper and journals into three categories namely small, medium and big copies or more, per publishing day. DAVP is the nodal agency of the Government of India for advertising on behalf of various Ministries and Departments which are funded by the government.
Imphal, 09 June 2016  ( Evening News) :Counting agents and election agents of Indian National Congress candidate of Ward No. 27 in the recently concluded IMC election refuted the claim of manipulation in the counting of ballot papers for the ward by the CPI candidate. Speaking to media persons at the house of INC candidate Herojit Ngangomba at Naoremthong Khulem Leikai, counting agent Sukham stated that by the end counting of votes of 27/1 to 27/6, CPI candidate was leading. Some agents of CPI, assuming that CPI had won the election, went out of the counting hall and started celebrating. None of the officials from DC office announced the result of the election in favour of CPI. Sukham also added that votes of the remaining 27/7 to 27/9 were counted peacefully with all the counting agents of contesting candidates present. Th Rajesh who was the election agent of INC candidate said although CPI candidate Memsana requested the authority not to issue certificate of election to the successful INC candidate, authority had already issued the certificate to Herojit Ngangomba. He  appealed not to create animosity among the locals by spreading fabricated news.

Imphal, 09 June 2016 ( Evening News) : Khurai MLA and Chairman of Manipur Pollution Control Board, Dr Ng Bijoy today stated that the govt should rethink the legality of declaring the former Convenor of Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System, Khomdram Ratan wanted and rectify it if there had been lapses in the decision. Speaking at the consecration of Chingkhei Ebudhou Ebendhou temple organised by Phaknung Village Development Committee, Phaknung in Imphal East, Dr Bijoy added that both the govt and the people must carefully understand the responsibility and act accordingly at this critical juncture of ILPS movement. He said people often talk about the govt being not pro active in any issue of the state and insincerity in any legitimate demand of the people. He asserted that it is time that the govt changed its approach in addressing any issue facing the state.

Imphal, 07 June 2016 ( Evening News ): Report has suggested that President Pranab Mukherjee has withheld The Protection of Manipur People Bill 2015 passed by Manipur Legislative Assembly on August 31 last year. This was the first bill of the 3 bills passed by the state assembly after the state witnessed widespread protests by the people demanding protection of indigenous people of Manipur. Under Secretary of Union Ministry of Home Affairs Surinder Rani has intimated the matter to the secretary of Law & Legislative Affairs, Govt of Manipur. The letter dated May 11, 2016 addressed to the Secretary mentioned that the  President has withheld the Protection of Manipur People Bill 2015. The letter has been widely shared on a Social Networking Site. It may be mentioned that the Congress govt has so far remained silent about the letter.

Meanwhile reacting to the report of the president withholding the Protection of Manipur People Bill 2015, JCILPS Convenor in Charge, B.K. Moirangcha today told the Impact news that the JCILPS will decide next course of action after it confirms whether the letter written by the Under Secretary, Government Of India to the secretary, Law & Legislative Affairs, Govt of Manipur is true or not.

Imphal, 06 June 2016 ( Evening News) : Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam said it is unfortunate that BJP Manipur Pradesh accused the state govt of not seeking appointment with the Central leaders. He also termed the meeting of BJP Manipur Pradesh delegation with the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh separately without the all party delegation as ‘uncivilised’. Deputy Chief Minister was addressing media persons before leaving for New Delhi at his official quarter in Babupara today. Gaikhangam said it would have made an impact in case the all political party delegation had met the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh. He said all the political party must unite and stand together for a positive response and to make their mission successful. Gaikhangam said it would have been easier to get an appointment in case the BJP Manipur Pradesh had seeked it from the Central leaders as the BJP led NDA govt is in power in the Centre. Clarifying the accusation from the opposition BJP, Gaikhangam claimed that the Chief Minister Office had earlier seeked appointment with Prime Minister. Speaking regarding the arrest of students during ILPS stir, Gaikhangam gave assurance that all the students will be released before June 10.
