Imphal, 10 December 2020 ( Evening News ) : Manipur joined the world-wide observation of International Human Rights Day today. Human Rights Defender Manipur observed International Human Rights Day on this year's theme “Recover Better Stand up for Human Rights” at New Chekon. Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of Human Rights Defender Manipur- Joy Chingkham stressed on the need to spread awareness on Human Rights to build a peaceful society. He added that it is high time to include ‘Human Rights’ in School syllabus. Leaders of various CSOs attended the event.

Imphal, 06 December 2020 ( Evening News ) : MLA Karam Shyam stressed on the need to encourage youths in their initiatives towards good cause He lamented that failure to follow disciplines has led to increase in unwanted incidents. He was speaking at the inauguration of shrine of Lainingthou Puthiba at Mairenkhong today. It may be mentioned that the construction of the shrine was funded by son of MLA Karam Shyam- Karam Gulmeet. Speaking at the event, MLA Karam Shyam said sacrifice, kindness and gratitude are some of the characters one should follow for an equal society. He assured possible support for any youths who takes up good initiatives. He also announced that a shrine of Ibudhou Pureiromba will be constructed at Karam without further delay.

Imphal, 01 December 2020 ( Evening News ) : Nagaland governor RN Ravi on Monday said the Government of India is absolutely clear that there is and there shall be only one national flag and Constitution in India. He said that anyone talking anything contrary is peddling preposterous lies and are trying to confuse and mislead the people. Greeting the people of the State on the 58th Statehood Day of Nagaland, RN Ravi said, Quote UnQuote-“We stand at the crossroads of history. The right decision taken today will determine our future and the destiny of our coming generations.” He added that the Government of India has never ever talked, much less negotiated with anyone on the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country and misadventure to disintegrate the nation shall not be tolerated. The NSCN (I-M) which is holding talks with the Centre for the last 23 years is insisting on separate Naga flag and constitution to arrive at a final solution to the Indo-Naga issue. Ravi, however, noted that there are some people who are standing as a roadblock to the aspirations of the people of Nagaland. President, Vice President and Prime Minister have greeted people of Nagaland on their Statehood Day. Nagaland became the 16th State of the Union of India on 1st December 1963.

Imphal, 28 November 2020 ( Evening News ) : Manipur University of Culture Students Union has demanded authorities concerned to abide by UGC rules and regulations for admission process in the University. Union members carried out a protest demonstration in front of  Directorate of Art and Culture in Palace Compound today. They have also warned to surrender their bachelor’s degree certificates if diploma certificate holders not recognised by the UGC are allowed admission in the University. Taking part in the protest, Union General Secretary Y. Bhumeshwar urged authorities concerned to take necessary measures to ensure welfare of students without resorting to emotional blackmailing.

Imphal, 28 November 2020 ( Evening News ) : Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) Manipur State Unit celebrated 20th Foundation Day of LJP at State Guest House in Sanjenthong today. Speaking on the occasion, LJP National Vice President cum Langthabal MLA Karam Shyam said no political party will get absolute majority in upcoming 2022 Manipur Legislative Assembly Election. He asserted that minor political parties play crucial roles in government formation. Karam Shyam said LJP incepted in 2000 with eminent politician Ram Vilas Paswan as Founder President. He said LJP now has party offices in every states and has secured an important berth in the political scenario of India. Karam Shyam claimed that  LJP is taking a major role in the BJP led NDA Central Government as a coalition partner. He expressed disappointment that minor political parties are being ignored and Pre-Poll Alliance Ethics are being violated in Manipur unlike at the Centre. LJP State President Thangkhangin Ngaite, Chief Spokesperson N.Ibohal, Vice President L.Shyam and newly elected president of Dalit Sena- N.Sanjoy attended the event.
