The 8th Manipur Polo International kicked off today at Mapal Kangjeibung, the oldest Polo Ground in the world. Chief Minister Okram Ibobi hoisted the opening flag and declared the tournament opened. Renown young and dynamic folk singer Mangka sang the theme song of the edition which also marks the 150th anniversary of the first polo match played outside Manipur at Kolkata. Seven foreign teams and two team from India are taking part in the prestigious tournament.
