Imphal, 04 November 2017 ( Evening News ) : Chief minister Nongthombam Biren today inaugurated 5 different government offices and laid the foundation for women's market in Chandel district. The chief minister during his visit to the district inaugurated the Chandel District Hospital and govt offices including the ADC office. He assured that the women's market in the district will be completed by January next year and will be presented as a new year gift to the people of Chandel. The chief minister also directed the officials of Manipur Police Housing corporation to expedite the construction of the market and complete it within January.  Biren also inaugurated Liwachaning girls hostel at Komlathabi, Science laboratory of United college and Maha Union Girls Hostel. He also laid the foundation of Panchai Town hall. The chief minister along with Ministers inspected the Chandel district hospital complex and appreciated the staff when he saw the hospital providing Generic medicine to patients at cheaper price. The chief minister along with ministers and MLA will also attend a public meeting at Maha union ground. A cabinet meeting will also be held at the DRDA hall in mini secretariat.

Imphal, 02 November 2017 (Evening News ) : Acting chief justice of High court of Manipur N. Kotiswar today urged the people to resolve their issues before coming to the court. A commendation ceremony for the best Para-Legal Volunteer, PLV and District Legal Service Authority 2016-2017 was held at the Auditorium of the High Court of Manipur. Manipur State Legal Services Authority organised the event. Speaking at the event, Acting Chief Justice of High Court of Manipur, N. Kotishwar stressed that the people must try to resolve any issue before approaching the Court of Law. He said the court must be approached when the issue is critical. The acting chief justice maintained that court proceeding involves time and money. He also highlighted the role of Para Legal Authority in settling the issues before they are brought before the court. In his speech Justice, Kh. Nobin said the people do not try to find out the reason behind the delay in the distribution of rice for the poor people. He said the government of India sanctions the rice for every month but the people remain silent when the authorities concerned tell them that the PDS items have not been sent and that the items will be distributed next month. He appealed to people to take legal help regarding such matter.

Imphal, 31 October 2017 ( Evening News ) : Chief Minister Nongthombam Biren today reaffirmed his commitment to the protection of territorial integrity at any cost and urged everyone to protect integrity of the country. The chief minister was speaking on the sidelines of National Unity Day observance at Khuman Lampak Sports Stadium. The  Department of Youth Affairs and Sports organised the event to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of India’s Iron Man Sadar Vallabhai Patel. While responding to a query regarding the  Centre's claim that the seven decade old Naga insurgency issue will be resolved soon and the panic among neighbouring states of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh over the Naga demand for  creation of a Greater Nagaland, Biren said the Prime Minister has  repeatedly assured that the territorial integrity will not be affected at any cost. He also asserted that the Manipur Assembly has already taken a firm stand to protect the territorial integrity of the State at any cost.

Imphal, 28 October 2017 ( Evening News ) : The state Cabinet has decided to complete 161 works of different departments within 365 days of the BJP led govt. The Cabinet which met yesterday with chief minister Nongthombam Biren in the chair discussed finalization of a number of developmental programmes to be taken up by different departments. The Government has identified 161 works under Health & Family Welfare, Information Technology, Science & Technology, Agriculture, Horticulture, Transport, Public Works Department, Home, Art and Culture, Public Health Engineering Department, Finance Department, Power, Tourism, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Education, Planning, Social Welfare, MAHUD, Minorities and Backward Classes etc. to be completed in 365 days of the government. The Chief Minister directed the Ministers to monitor the progress of the work to ensure their completion on time. The Cabinet also decided to compensate the damages caused by blast on March 2, this year at the residence of Leishiyo Keishing at Langol. It also approved  creation of 2 posts of Superintending Engineer (Civil) in Manipur Police Housing Corporation.

Imphal, 26 October 2017 ( Evening News ) :Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has assured that the peace talk between the NSCN-IM and Government of India will not compromise the territorial integrity of Assam.  Rajnath Singh gave the assurance to Chief Minister of Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal during a meeting at New Delhi yesterday. He said  the central government is committed to maintain peace and harmony in the Northeast region. During the meeting, the duo took decision to close Karimganj-Cachar and Maan Cachar-South Salmara sector along India-Bangladesh broder as soon as possible.
