Imphal, 21 March 2016 : One day lecture program on ‘Nation First, the Truth of JNU’ was organised by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, (ABVP) Manipur today at The Classic Hotel. Dean of Central Agricultural University Iroisemba Dr. Joykumar Laishram, Professor M. Dhaneshwor, of Chemistry Department, MU along with others attended the program. ABVP All India President Professor Milind Marathe spoke on the topic Nation first the truth of JNU at the event.
Works Minister, Ratankumar denies dissension in the Congress Party, says it is more like a family matter
IMPHAl, 21 March 2016 : Works Minister, Dr Khumujam Ratankumar has denied dissension in the Congress Party. The minister said there is no dissension in the party but it is more like a family problem. Speaking at the one day political conference of Phoubakchao Lainingthou Mapal Community Hall in Phoubakchao in Mayang Imphal the minister said it is natural that nobody will be fully satisfied with the Government. He however maintained that the party members must have their faith in the leaders of the Party and their decisions. Ratankumar said such political conference provides an opportunity to the govt to understand their mistakes and learn from them.
MLA Shyamkumar demands life term for the accused in the molestation of a minor student of Yairipok High School
IMPHAl, 20 March 2016 : Andro MLA Th. Shyamkumar has demanded life term for the hostel warden Keisham Ibohanbi for molesting a minor student of Yairipok High School. A large number of irate people today protested the molestation of the young girl by the warden at Yairipok Bazar. Keisham Ibohanbi of Yairipok Vishnu Naha ward Number 3 in Wangkhem AC molested the girl on the 18th of this month. The enraged people of Andro first gathered at Andro Bazar in the morning around 8 and stormed Yairipok Ploice Station. They demanded that the police hand over the arrested accused to them. Police fired tear gas shells to control the mob and at least 3 persons sustained injuries. Later the people held a public meeting at Azad Higher Secondary School ground in Yairipok Tulihal with Andro MLA, Th. Shyamkumar. MLA Shyamkumar appealed to the people to be patient and let the law take its course. He said the rise in crimes against women in the state has caused a panic among the parents. Shyamkumar warned that action will be taken against the school authority for keeping a male warden in the girls hostel. Social Economic Development Organisation, Yairipok Bazar has resolved to expel him from the locality. The people of Andro and Wangkhem have also resolved to work together until Keisham Ibohanbi is punished.

Based on the Yaoshang Holi the production was shown at the auditorium of Progressive Artiste Laboratory, Lamboikhongnangkhong. The event was attended by artists as well as lovers of dance and music.

Imphal, 20 March 2016 : Conference of the Medical Society, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, MESOCON 2016 kicked off today at the jubilee hall RIMS. Directors of RIMS and JNIMS, members of the Medical society, Students and doctors of RIMS took part in the inaugural session. Certificates were also presented to the toppers of the Post Graduate Examinations conducted by RIMS and winners of the Painting Competition held as part of the conference.
