Imphal, 29 March 2016 : The Khousabung Sub-Division Demand Committee - KSDCC has temporary suspended the indefinite bandh imposed in Churachandpur district. The KSDCC termed the inauguration of controversial Kangvai SDO/BDO office by Churachandpur DC as highly sensitive and sentimental issue. KSDDC and local people also announce boycott of T. Manga Vaiphei, MLA of Henglep A/C for betraying his people, undermining the voice of the people who elect him and hurting their sentiments beyond redemption. The Committee also said they will never recognise the inauguration of Kangvai SDO/BDO office. It said they will will not give any cognizance to the SDO/BDO which has been established against the wishes of the people by suppressing democratic voice of the people by the State govt. The KSDCC said they will continue their fight for justice. Meanwhile during the indefinite bandh in the morning state police arrested 60 bandh supporters. The impact of the indefinite bandh was severely felt at Kwakta along Imphal-Churachandpur Road and Churachandpur District Head Quarters. The indefinite bandh has been called by KSDDC demanding review of Cabinet decision to rename Thangting Subdivision as Kangvai Subdivision. The committee is also demanding renaming the new subdivision as Khousabung Subdivision with its headquarters at Khousabung.
