Imphal, 24 September 2016 ( Evening News ) : Gaikhangam said lack of respect and regard for the elders among the educated young people is responsible for the present unrest in the state. Speaking at the prize distribution function organised by Social Development Organisation at Takyel Kolom Community Hall today the deputy chief minister stressed the need to understand the significance of age old traditions by the students and at the same learn their lessons at schools and colleges to make their lives more meaningful and successful. He also urged the students to develop good work habit and imitate the people of developed countries who have work culture. Outstanding students who have done well in the field of education, Games & Sports and Culture were presented with certificates and cash awards for 2015-16 at the event.
