Imphal, 16 September 2016 ( Evening News ) : The 43rd foundation day of All Manipur Working Journalists Union, AMWJU was celebrated today. Taking part in the celebration as the chief guest, Chief Minister, Okram Ibobi expressed grave concern at the media's lack of Freedom of Speech & Expression in Manipur. Okram Ibobi lauded the media persons for their commitment in communicating news to the people of a complex state like Manipur where various ethnic communities live together. The Chief Minister also assured all possible govt support to media persons. Director of information and public relations, several Veteran Journalists, families of late journalists who worked in print and electronic media and journalists working in print and electronic media took part in the event. Floral tribute was also offered to the portraits of founders of AMWJU. Gifts were presented to veteran journalists and families of late editors and journalists.
