Imphal, 28 August 2016 ( Evening News ) : Director of Health Services, Dr. O Ibomcha said the State govt will form a task force to counter the problem of Hepatitis C virus in Manipur. O Ibomcha said this while speaking at one-day training program held on the theme ‘Use of Direct Acting Antivirals for treatment of Hepatitis C’. The training program was organised by Community Network for Empowerment, CoNE in collaboration with Directorate of Health Services and Babina Diagnostics at Babina Diagnostic Centre, Porompat. Dr. Ibomcha said Hepatitis C virus is increasing at an alarming rate in Manipur and it is the right time to control and eradicate it. He also said a task force can be formed but there is a need for political will and administrative support apart from signing MoU with companies concerned. The program was attended by JNIMS, Hepatologist & Gastroenterogist consultant Dr. N. Surajkumar, Babina Diagnostic Centre Chairman Cum Managing Director Dr Th. Dhabali among others.
