Imphal , 08 April 2021 ( Evening News ) :JNIMS staff has tendered mass resignation in demand for implementation of 7th ROP. Members of Teachers Association, JNIMS, Association for all Non-Teaching Staff, JNIMS and The Trained Nurses Association, JNIMS today tendered mass resignation to JNIMS Deputy Director (Administration). Subsequently, OPD of the lone state run hospital --JNIMS is now closed. The decision to submit mass resignation was taken in a Joint Governing body meeting of the associations on April 6. They also resolved that all members will unanimously resolve not to withdraw the mass resignation papers in the event of any threat and that no member will withdraw resignation paper individually. Speaking to media, Joint Secretary of JNIMS Teachers Association Doctor Kumarjit said they tendered the mass resignation against the non-implementation of 7th ROP in JNIMS even after 100 days of verbal assurance by State Chief Secretary. He said further course of action will be decided by the associations in due time. Members of the three Associations met with Principal Secretary Health V. Vunlunmang this afternoon. However, V. Vunlunmang said he cannot take any decision without the Chief Secretary who has taken ill since yesterday.
Meanwhile, Press release from JNIMS Director Professor Th Bhimo says mass resignation submitted by JNIMS Staff cannot be accepted as per rules. It said Joint application is not acceptable under the provisions of Central Civil Services Conduct Rules, 1964. The press release further said, any individual member who desires to submit resignation from their post may submit in individual application as per rules.
