Imphal, 28 February 2021 ( Evening News ): A minor boy was killed while 7 others including 3 women sustained injuries in a shooting incident at Kakwa Naorem Leikai Sofa Leirak in Imphal West District under Singjamei Police Station. Impact News sources said that the incident occurred at around 11:30 last night. The deceased minor is 17 year old RK. Casper, son of late Dhanasana. While the injured persons are 76 year old Naorem Inao, 50 year old Naorem Hemabati, 36 year old Naorem Thoibisana, 32 year old Naorem Phulendro, 27 year old Naorem Amarjit, 20 year old Naorem Barun and 17 year old Naorem Banish. Police has arrested two accused involved in the shooting- Longjam Rakesh and his father Achou from Kakwa Huidrom Leikai. Following the incident, Irate locals of the deceased minor boy’s locality burnt down the house of the shooter in the wee hours today. They also vandalised 3 other houses and set ablaze a van. Upon getting the information, Singjamei Police Station Personnel rushed to contain the situation. Police resorted to firing tear gas Shells to disperse the agitating mob. Upon hearing the incident, Langthabal MLA Karam Shyam and Imphal West SP also arrived and inspected the crime scene.
