Imphal, 22 May 2017 ( Evening News ): Chief Minister Nongthombam Biren inaugurated the Barak Spring Festival 2017 at Senapati today. The chief minister lighted the festival fire marking the opening of festival at the Senapati Mini Stadium Ground. People of Senapati accorded a warm welcome to the Chief Minister. The festival will be held for two days. Chief Minister Nongthombam Biren was presented with shawl, traditional war attire, vegetables and fruits of five different cultures. The opening ceremony was also attended by Deputy Chief Minister, Yumnam Joykumar, MLAs, Parliamentary secretaries and top officials of both civil and police. Large number of people from Senapati district were also present on the occasion. The festival will showcase comedy shows, Barak melody, Ecological and Environment Concerned Talent Hunt, etc. Cultural performances were the highlights of the opening ceremony today
