Imphal, 15 May 2017 ( Evening News ) : Since the announcement of "Meeyamgi-Numit" or people's day, Chief Minister Nongthombam Biren for the first time met with the public today. Ranging from seeking financial assistance for eye treatment to road repair, to proper functioning of Govt offices, people made their own set of demands to the chief minister. The meeting began at 10 AM at the CM's Bungalow in Babupara. Officials from both the hills and valley took part in the meeting. Differently abled persons also came calling upon the Chief Minister on "Meeyamgi-Numit". On the first day today, number of Govt employees outbeat the number of common people who came to meet the CM. Govt employees submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister to look into their grievances. CM Biren assured them all of all possible help if the demands are legitimate. Differently abled persons drew the attention of the Chief Minister to the inconveniences they face while securing a disability certificate. They also urged him to help investigate matters related to crime. Taking part in Meeyamgi-Numit, Olympian Weightlifter, Sanamacha Chanu brought up issues facing her sport. Chief Minister, Nongthombam Biren said the meeting will help reduce inconveniences faced by the public. People who took part in the "Meeyamgi-Numit" had their own opinions.
