Imphal, 08 May 2017 ( Evening News ) : 2 territorial army personnel have been killed and 2 others sustained injuries in 2 IED blasts around 5.30 this morning at Lokchao in Tengnoupal district. The victims are all from Manipur. The deceased personnel have been identified as Arjun Baral from Koubru Leikha in Kangpokpi District and Varesho Hungyo from Leishipung Khul in Senapati District. The injured are identified as Toijam Chandra Singh from Thangal Leikai in Churachandpur and Y. Govind Singh from Kakching. Sources from the spot informed that the territorial army of 165 Battalion were returning towards their post after patrolling. 2 IED Bombs exploded simultaneously in front and the rear of the army vehicle about 2 kilometres away from their post. Sepoy Arjun Baral was kiiled on the spot while Varesho succumbed to his injury at the SHIJA Hospital. Chandra and Govind are currently undergoing treatment at the 57 Mountain Division, military hospital, Leimakhong. The front mirror and body of the truck were damaged. Officials of Moreh Police and Assam Rifles inspected the blast site. A search was also conducted. It may be recalled that 3 Manipur police personnel had died and 9 sustained injuries in an ambush by unknown miscreants around the same area in Lokachao last december
