BJP MANIPUR ALLEGES GAP BETWEEN BRO & GOVT.

IMPHAL, 19 MARCH 2016: A team of members of Bharatiya Janata Party, Manipur Pradesh yesterday inspected the Barak and Makru Bridges along the Imphal-Jiribam road. The team also met Commanding Officer, Border Road Organisation, RK Garg at Noney. During the inspection, the team found many loopholes and communication gap between the BRO and Manipur govt regarding the Barak bridge. It may be mentioned that, BRO officials in September last year had given assurance to the state Govt to complete Barak Bridge within two months. The CO, BRO RK Garg however clarified that the delay in the bridge construction was due to shortage of stock materials. He maintained that currently there is enough stock and the bridge will be completed very soon. However the CO failed to give a specific time frame. Speaking to media BJP Manipur Pradesh spokesperson, RK Shivachandra it is shocking to learn that vehicles with 24 ton load are not allowed to pass bailey bridge in Barak and Makru. He also said the innocence maintained by state Govt on artificial price hike of essential items and unnecessary hardship facing the people is unfortunate. He maintained that the govt must not remain silent when despite assurance by BRO officials nothing has been done on the bridge. RK Shivachandra added that, BJP Manipur will apprise the Ministry concerned of the current situation.
