CPI Manipur stands for free & fair election and against party hopping, says L. Sotinkumar

The 73rd Foundation Day of Communist Party of India (CPI), Manipur State Council was celebrated at Irawat Bhawan, BT Road in Imphal today. Party leaders, members, workers and supporters attended the event held by adhering to COVID-19 SOPs in a subdued manner. Attendees paid floral tributes to the bust of Lamyanba Hijam Irawat to mark the day.

Speaking at the event, Secretary of Communist Party of India, Manipur Laishram Sotinkumar said, Communist Party, a party based on Marxism and Leninism has been striving for the welfare of the public. He said that the party stands for a better state and for the rights of farmers following the footsteps of Lamyanba Hijam Irawat. Praising the late leader for his immense contribution in emancipating the state from feudalism of the colonial era, Laishram Sotinkumar said, 'Words will not be enough to describe Hijam Irawat's role in making Manipur an autonomous state".

Regarding the upcoming 2022 State Assembly Election, the CPI Manipur Secretary said that the party stands for free and fair election and against party hopping. He said the party will definitely field candidates to contest in the election.

Manipur Education Minister hopeful that merging of NEP-2020 & School Phagathansi Mission will boost education sector

Merging of 'National Education Policy 2020' with 'School Phagat-hanshi Mission' will bring a huge impact in the Education Sector of Manipur, said State Education Minister Sorokhaibam Rajen with high hopes. He was speaking to Impact News today on the sidelines of distributing CGI roofing Sheets to 36 poor families of Lamshang Assembly Constituency at his Salam residence.

Education Minister S. Rajen asserted that the Indian Government intends to start implementing National Education Policy 2020 in the country by 2025 and to meet full implementation of the educational policy latest by 2030. He maintained that Manipur Education Department is making necessary arrangements for the same.

S. Rajen also confirmed that as per the NEP 2020, Physical Education is a compulsory Subject starting class 6 onwards. Hence, more Physical Education Teachers will be required. The minister disclosed that recruitment of necessary PETs will be discussed in the upcoming State Cabinet.
